The difference at a glance

EditionWhat the listing includesBest fit
StandardThe Planet Zoo 2 base gameYou want the core game and can decide about add-ons later.
DeluxeThe base game plus the Deluxe Upgrade PackYou want the six extra animal species and exclusive animal signs in that pack.

Choose Deluxe if you want the base game plus the Deluxe Upgrade Pack’s six extra animal species and exclusive animal signs. Standard is the base game; Deluxe does not include every later add-on or future DLC. Check the store for your platform and region before buying, because purchase routes can differ.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Standard if the base game is what you want now, or if you would rather decide on add-ons after checking the current catalogue. Choose Deluxe if the animals and signs in the upgrade pack are worth the extra cost to you. The six-species bundle is a fixed content comparison; it is not a gameplay advantage or a different game mode.

Already own Standard? Check your platform’s store for a separately listed Deluxe Upgrade Pack before buying the full Deluxe edition. Steam lists the upgrade as a separate add-on. Xbox and PlayStation listings can present editions and add-ons differently, so open the product page while signed into the account that owns the game and confirm that the upgrade is not already in your library. Do not assume the upgrade price equals the difference between Standard and Deluxe prices.

What Deluxe does not confirm

The official listing describes the contents of the Deluxe Upgrade Pack; it does not promise that future DLC is included. Treat any later pack as a separate purchase unless its own current store listing explicitly says it is bundled with the edition you are buying. The Planet Zoo 2 listings reviewed here show Standard and Deluxe. “Ultimate Edition” searches can also lead to the original Planet Zoo, so verify that the product page names Planet Zoo 2 before checkout.

If you are deciding what to buy, compare the product and separate upgrade listings in the store for your platform. The edition does not determine access to Planet Hub features.

Before checkout

  1. Open the official store for your platform and confirm the product title is Planet Zoo 2.
  2. Compare the included items under Standard and Deluxe in that regional listing.
  3. If you own the base game, check your library and the separate upgrade listing before purchasing.
  4. Buy Deluxe only if the six species and signs in the upgrade pack are content you want. Prices and bundles can vary by platform, region, and sale.

Check before you buy

Open the current store listing for your platform and region before checkout because bundles can change. The listings checked on October 15, 2026 do not confirm future DLC contents or an “Ultimate” edition.
